Dear Readers,
Inspired by a MasterClass seminar with (gasp) Billy Collins, and as a complement to The Longest and Best Poem Ever Written (which like The Range of Acceptable Dosages is designed for people who don’t normally like poetry) I am working on a collection for people who actually quite like your typical, standard-issue 21st century poem.
I’m so used to writing about feudal Japanese lords and dead presidents and mid-century Russian socialites that writing about my own life for once is something of a shock.
Y’all damn well better like this stuff when it’s done, because it sure is tough to look in the mirror and not run away sometimes.
Love,
Your friendly neighborhood wordsmith,
Hart L’Ecuyer
